How do four families, bound by a decade's worth of friendship, vacation together?
They drive 8-10 hours from opposite ends of the nation to "meet in the middle" at The Sabbath House, an incredible retreat near Bryson City, NC, on top of a mountain, a lodge that lives up to its name.
Here the friends gather to enjoy the mountains...
and the serenity of the cabin.
There's music...
and silliness...
and this amazing view on the front porch.
They climb to the summits of mountains...
and tromp about on snow laden pathways.
And, of course, there's a bit of dress-up...
and a bunch of singing, teaching, and fellowship.
Yes. This is, at least, how these friends spend the week after Christmas...
to celebrate ten years of togetherness and to look forward to many more. This is how they Sabbath.
